Philip Johnson Glass House New Canaan – The Glass House was designed by Philip Johnson for his thesis project at Harvard University. This is being the residence of the architect from its construction until his death. It has been since then the most famous work of Johnson and, at the same time, the most controversial, since it was one of the precursors of the modern style and the use of new materials. Today the house is used as a museum and cult for architecture fans.
The Crystal House is located in New Canaan, Connecticut, United States. On a private plot that the architect inherited from the Johnson family, where, in addition to La Casa de Cristal, he designed the Casa de Ladrillo (for visits), and the Pabellón del Lago (recreational use). There is a path through a path, which links and connects these three works of the architect. The La Casa de Cristal project is located on a 190,000 m2 plot, hidden from the public eye, where nature was the most important on the site, as it was close to a pond and a slope with a steep slope. It ended in a lake. The trees are the only barrier that the house had, and at the same time, they functioned as contingency walls.

The Glass House has a very slender metallic structure which does not hide or hinder the vision to the outside since all the walls are glazed allowing to see what happens from one end to the other. The transparency of the glass makes this space a very light volume. The floor of the building is part of a cube, whose contour is formed only thanks to the fine work of ironwork painted black, this makes it go unnoticed in the landscape because the house is inside an enclosure surrounded by trees, allowing that mixes with the environment.
